As the battle of the new console generation was underway, the little hyrbid consoles outsold both during the holiday season. Sony's new PlayStation 5 and Microsoft's Xbox Series S|X launched in mid-November and Nintendo Switch outsold both during the November sales.
The PlayStation 5 is now rumored to release mid-November this year, with a $499 price tag for the Disc version and $399 for the Digital version of the console. It will release first in Japan on the 14th and on the 20th for the rest of the world. The date is very close to the official release date of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War which releases on the 13th of November this year.
Due to recent events across The (un)Unites States, Sony is postponing its PlayStation 5 event that was scheduled for June 4th. Sony had been planning to use Thursday’s event to showcase PS5 games, promising an hour-long event with a first look at some of the games coming out on PS5 this holiday season, maybe even a full reveal of the console itself.
